| A week before my daughter and I enjoyed a lunch of fresh crab so she decided to take my wife and I there last Wednesday night before setting out on travels through Africa. The evening got off to a poor start by being unfortunately seated and waited upon by a middle aged waitress who had no interest in her job and certainly not us for she was totally persed-lipped throughout. That didn't matter very much and we enjoyed a good value Montagny followed by enjoyable first courses. My daughter choose Red Snapper which was very good but my wife and I choose the Dover sole which were so overcooked to a rubbery toughness and had almost certainly been re-heated. I didn't complain for after all it was my daughter's special occasion. Prior to the two visits mentioned above we had not been to the GandD for some time and I'm afraid we view that as good judgement. More upset and disappointed than critical, Christopher Thomas | |

| Nice venue, good food, prices fair BUT why are so many places letting themselves down by bringing potatoes that are either tinned (but not fresh)? | |
